Freedom Act (EMFA)

Under Article 25(2) of the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA), public authorities and public bodies are required to publish annual information on their expenditure for advertising. The publication of this information contributes to greater transparency regarding the allocation and use of public funds for advertising activities. It also supports the objectives of the EMFA to promote accountability, openness and public trust in accordance with applicable European legislation.

Transparency of advertising expenditure

As a company owned by the Federal Republic of Germany, SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE) publishes the information required under Article 25(2) of the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) annually on this website. The first publication took place in 2026 and covers public expenditure on advertising for the period from 8 August 2025 to 31 December 2025.

The publication includes SEFE’s total annual expenditure, broken down by media service providers and online platform providers from which advertising services were purchased.
