Acting
sustainably

SEFE ensures security of supply while actively driving decarbonisation. For us, sustainability means embracing responsibility – consistently, transparently and with a long-term perspective.

ESG STRATEGY

We uphold clear
ESG principles

SEFE is driving the transformation of the energy landscape by adhering to clearly defined environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. Our approach centres on supply security, emissions reduction and corporate citizenship .

Guided by measurable targets, clearly assigned roles and binding standards, our ESG strategy provides a structured framework for action. This enables us to systematically embed sustainability into our operations.

Focus on Scope 1 and 2 in our operations

Whether it’s the energy consumption of our sites or sourcing renewable electricity: by 2030, we’re aiming to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions relative to the 2021 baseline, and by 2045, we’re striving for net-zero for these activities.

Focus on Scope 3: supply chain emissions

We consider the entire value chain – from procurement and logistics to customer interactions. Through collaborations, emissions reviews and dedicated initiatives, we’re systematically cutting indirect emissions.

Expanding infrastructure to power the future

We’re investing in the growth of low-carbon energy – including origination, transport and storage. At the same time, we’re strengthening our technical capabilities to deliver long-term supply security while lowering emissions.

Sustainability reports

In 2024, we published our first sustainability report, detailing the ESG developments of 2023 — a significant step towards greater transparency and accountability. Our sustainability reports document our progress in embedding sustainability throughout the company, covering areas such as corporate governance, climate action, social responsibility and the role of our infrastructure. With the 2024 annual report, which incorporates our sustainability report for the first time, we’ve introduced a new format for integrated, transparent and forward-looking reporting.
