SEFE has been supplying Pfalzgas with natural gas since January 2025, in the framework of a contract for the delivery of 1.2 TWh per year. Pfalzgas recently decided to extend this exclusive and flexible contract by two years, until 2027. In the context of this extension, Pfalzgas and SEFE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore possible hydrogen deliveries through Germany’s core grid, helping Pfalzgas to deliver on its mission to operate a green gas network.
Hamead Ahrary, SEFE CSO, said: “We are happy to be exploring the possibility of hydrogen deliveries with Pfalzgas. We are bringing to the table not only our expertise in developing the hydrogen core grid but also the experience we are acquiring while investing in hydrogen production and import. Together, SEFE and Pfalzgas are contributing to Germany's goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2045. This agreement is proof of our pioneering spirit to make the energy transition a reality.”
Werner Brommko, Pfalzgas CSO, commented: “In SEFE, we have found a trusted partner that not only helps us to ensure a secure supply of energy for our customers but also offers us solutions to decarbonise, and thus helps us reach our goal to operate a gas network, ideally starting in 2035, that can supply all connected customers with green gases.”
