He will perform this role with effect from 1 September 2022 alongside CEO Wolfgang Skribot.

Frédéric Barnaud’s core responsibilities will be the Global LNG Trading and the Global Commodity & Derivatives Trading business units. His previous roles include appointments as Group Commercial and Strategy Officer of Mercuria Energy Trading in Geneva and CEO of Pavilion Energy in Singapore. He also held senior roles in Gazprom Marketing & Trading and TotalEnergies.

Dr. Egbert Laege, Managing Director of Securing Energy for Europe GmbH in Berlin and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SM&T commented: “I am delighted to welcome Frédéric Barnaud on board of SM&T.
