SEFE to supply BOTAŞ with five million tonnes of LNG over ten years
Partnership strengthens diversification of Türkiye’s sources of supply
Deal expands SEFE’s geographical reach and strengthens the resilience of its portfolio
[Berlin, Germany; 3 December 2025] – SEFE Securing Energy for Europe has signed a ten-year agreement to supply LNG to Türkiye’s BOTAŞ, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2028. This long-term contract builds on the three-year deal concluded earlier this year, through which SEFE is providing over 1.5 million tonnes of LNG in total.
Under the new agreement, SEFE will deliver approximately five million tonnes of LNG over the next decade, strengthening Türkiye’s long-term energy security while extending SEFE’s global LNG market reach. The LNG will be delivered from SEFE’s growing global LNG portfolio, which includes a stable foundation of long-term US LNG volumes.
BOTAŞ is Türkiye’s state-owned energy company, responsible for the import, transport and trading of natural gas and LNG. The company operates an extensive network of pipelines and infrastructure, including LNG terminals and storage facilities, making it a key player in Türkiye’s and the wider region’s energy supply. Through long-term LNG agreements with international partners, BOTAŞ reinforces its position in regional energy markets and advances supply diversification.
Frédéric Barnaud, SEFE CCO, said: “This long-term contract is a testimony to the strong relationship we have built with BOTAŞ. We intend to contribute our American LNG supplies to BOTAŞ’s ongoing efforts to diversify its energy sourcing for Türkiye, and reinforce its security of supply through our partnership.”
